Bride & Groom walking with another couple.

Maria Modes has been situated in the heart of Macclesfield for over 15 years and has become a go-to destination for the women of Cheshire when it comes to sourcing their wedding dresses but it’s fair to say that we’re less well known for our selection of groomswear.

We care about the groom as much as we do the bride, especially when it comes to how they look on the big day which is why we’ve carefully chosen the best selection of men’s wedding attire available to hire or buy to suit your situation.

We’ve already given you a look at the top groomswear trends of 2018 and today we’re going to be giving you an insight into the menswear department at Maria Modes and letting you know what your visit to our showroom could look like.

Before You Arrive

Once you’ve popped the question and the planning process for your big day has begun, we recommend booking an appointment to visit our showroom with your bride, well in advance of when you’ll need your suits.

We recommend starting the suit shopping process far earlier than you feel you need to because this part of wedding planning can end up taking far longer than you think, especially when you’re trying to get suits for a big group of groomsmen.

You can always pop into our showroom but to ensure we have a member of our team ready to take care of you, we always suggest arranging a time with us for your visit. The reason we recommend bringing your bride with you for your first suit shopping visit is to ensure you’re both on the same page about what look you want for the big day because things can get a little overexcited when all your groomsmen get involved.

Your First Visit

When you head to our showroom for your first visit, we try to keep things as welcoming, friendly and organised as possible.

Trying on suits is something that fears so many men, so we understand that you might be feeling a little less enthusiastic than your bride at this point. Once you’ve arrived, one of our team will be introduced to you as your personal shopper for the visit, they’ll take care of you throughout your time in the showroom and work closely with you to find the perfect suits.

We have a range of refreshments available for the duration of your shopping which you will be offered on arrival before being shown to our groomswear department and your private area where you will be trying on your suits.

The main goal of your first visit is for you and your bride to decide on the suits you want for the big day. We have a selection of our suits available in store, although it isn’t possible for us to house every suit in every size and colour, so we have a selection to cover styles, colours and sizes, so everyone can try on a suit to establish size and other suits can be looked at for choosing colours/styles.

Once you have decided on the suit you wish to go for, we will arrange another visit with you where your groomsmen can come in and try the suit.

Following Visits and Fittings

Similarly to your first visit, we will allocate a member of our team to your party who will take all of your measurements, introduce your groomsmen to the suit and let them know of any options within the outfit, such as different trouser fits.

As with your first fitting, we may have to use suits that aren’t the exact one you’re going for to measure the men in your grooms’ party but we will always try to fit with a suit in a similar style and if that’s not possible, we’ll take that into consideration with our measurements.

Once we have taken everyone’s measurements and ordered the suits accordingly, we will then leave it up to you and your party to decide whether you wish to book for another fitting once the suits have arrived. This is a decision that is down to you as the groom and we are happy to go with whatever you think is best.

Collection and Alterations

If you are hiring your suits, they will arrive in store one week before your wedding date and the balance will need to be paid for when you come to collect. We understand you may want to be super organised in the run-up to your wedding and get everything sorted well in advance but we can’t get hire suits in store any sooner than one week before the date of your wedding.

If you’re buying your suit, they will arrive in store far sooner and we will let you know once they have arrived. You can collect these as soon as they have been paid for in full.

After collection, we recommend you try your suits on as soon as you get home and if there is an issue with your suit such as a missing button or it simply doesn’t fit right anymore, you will need to contact us and let us know the issue. At this point, we can advise you on the best way to deal with the problem and if replacement items are required, these will be ordered and charged for at an additional cost.

After the Wedding

If you bought your suit then you needn’t do any more than continue enjoying wearing your suit but if you hired your suit, we ask it is returned to the store as soon as possible after the date of the wedding.

We always ask that suits are returned to us as quickly as possible but the latest they can be returned is the Friday following the wedding date but this exact date will be established on the collection of your suits.

Although we know you and your party will care for your suits as best you can, accidents do happen and if suits are returned to us with faults or missing items, these will be charged for and the cost will depend on the item that needs replacing.

We also love to see your pictures from the big day if you’re sporting a suit from us, so do tag us in your pictures on Facebook and Instagram!

We hope you’ve found this useful if you’re looking for the perfect suits for you and your grooms’ party, so if you want to come and see our suits in store, get in touch today.
